UK CHARTS: Black Ops back on top

Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops is back at the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 this week, with last week’s number one Gran Turismo 5 having to settle for fourth place in its second week of release.

Sony’s racer, though, remains the biggest selling single SKU for the second week in a row.

It’s the third UK No.1 for Activision’s latest Call of Duty title.

The nearing of Christmas appears to have had a dramatic impact on the face of the UK charts this week, with several titles considered ideal gift contenders surging back up the listings.

EA’s strong Xmas No.1 contender FIFA 11 climbed two places to second place this week, increasing its credentials for the coveted festive crown.

The most notable performance, however, came from Ubisoft’s Wii title Michael Jackson: The Experience, which jumps from 32nd to sixth in just its second week on the market.

Also in the Top Ten are perennial Wii duo Wii Party and Wii Fit Plus in eighth and ninth respectively. New release Donkey Kong Country manages 13th in its debut week while discounted Nintendo title Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary manages 22nd.

Here’s the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top Ten in full (for the week ending December 4th):
1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision)
2. FIFA 11 (EA)
3. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
4. Gran Turismo 5 (Sony)
5. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft)
6. Michael Jackson: The Experience (Ubisoft)
7. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (EA)
