UK CHARTS: Black Ops returns to No.1

Call of Duty: Black Ops has once again secured to the top spot of the GfK Chart-Track All Formats Charts.

Thanks to 192 per cent increase in sales, Treyarch’s shooter has now racked up eight No.1s since its release in November – one less than its predecessor Modern Warfare 2.

However, the 2009 Infinity Ward FPS managed this consecutively, while last year’s smash hit has continuously battled its way back to the top after strong launches of newer titles.

This week’s major new release, Marvel vs Capcom 3, settles for second place, but achieves almost as many sales in its first week as the original PS2 and Xbox title did in its entire lifetime.

Last week’s No.1 Test Drive Unlimited drops to fourth place behind EA’s Dead Space 2, which enjoyed a 61 per cent rise in sales. FIFA 11 rounds off the Top Five, slipping by two places.

Ubisoft continues to see strong sales from Just Dance 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood – in at No.6 and No.7 respectively – while Nintendo’s Mario vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem falls two places to No.8.

Two non-movers sit at the bottom of the Top 10, with Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Collection at No.9 and LittleBigPlanet 2 at No.10. No other new entries made it into the Top 40, while the highest re-entry is Ubisoft’s Michael Jackson: The Experience at No.33.

Here’s the UKIE Gfk Chart-Track All Formats Top 10 for the week ending February 19th:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision)
2. Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (Capcom)
3. Dead Space 2 (EA)
