UK CHARTS: God of War III slays competition

Sony’s God of War III debuted at the top of the charts this week, marking the platform holder’s second No.1 of the year.

The hugely popular action title follows the success of the Heavy Rain and knocks Final Fantasy XIII down to third place. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 holds onto to second place, with only 1,000 sales between it and God of War III.

THQ’s Metro 2033 becomes the second-highest new entry in fifth place – the only other title to debut in the Top 10 this week.

EA titles Dragon Age : Origins – Awakening and Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight just missed out on a Top 10 spot, entering the charts at No.11 and No.12 respectively.

Capcom’s MotoGP 09/10 was the only other new entry to make it into the All Formats Top 40, debuting at No.21.
