UK CHARTS: London 2012 still ahead of the competition

Sega takes a second Gold media at UK retail as its official Olympics tie-in holds onto the No.1 spot of the GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

The sports game enjoyed a 88 per cent rise is sales as Olympic fever sweeps Britain, while its Mario & Sonic sister title holds onto No.3 with a 42 per cent sales boost.

LEGO Batman 2 sold 15 per cent fewer copies than last week, but still maintained its position at No.2. The Dark Knight continued to rise with Batman: Arkham City climing to No.4 wtih a week-on-week sales increase of 21 per cent.

Retailer promotions also bolstered the Top 10 with the discounted Skyrim up from No.8 to No.5 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations re-entering at No.6. Meanwhile, Battlefield 3 returned to the Top 10 at No.8 after a four-week absence.

Deep Silver's Risen 2: Dark Waters was the highest new entry at No.14, beating the original's debut at No.29 back in 2009. 

Also new to the Top 40 was Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance at No.19.
