UK CHARTS: No stopping FIFA

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa has survived a three-way assault to cling on to the number one spot in the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

Its third week at the top comes at the expense of Microsoft’s Alan Wake, which manages a second place finish in its first week of release. Just behind it is co-op focused debutant Lost Planet 2. The final new entry in this week’s Top Ten, EA’s Skate 3, claims fifth spot with Ubisoft’s Just Dance completing the Top Five.

Some High Street discounting sees Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII return to the Top Ten in eighth while Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War jumps 23 places to 15th.

Lower down the listing, new Square Industry RPG Nier manages to enter the charts for the first time at number 23 and Microsoft’s Lips: I Love the ‘80s debuts in 25th position.
