UK software sales monitor: Market makes £11.2m

UK retail finally enjoyed a slight rise as it generated £11.2m from game sales this week. That is a five per cent increase compared to last week’s £10.7m.

A total of 586,596 games were sold in UK retailers this week. Last week 563,110 were sold.

Zumba Fitness continued to outsell all other releases, backed up by strong performances from Ubisoft’s new shooter Call of Juarez and EA’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Tomorrow (Friday, July 29th), Ubisoft releases The Smurfs Dance Party for Wii while EA provides retail with PC expansion pack The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff.
