Microsoft will launch its first own-brand retail outlet in the UK in March of next year, a new report claims.

The Verge says that it learnt of the plan through sources familiar with the company” and that the High Street arrival will be preceded by the launch of an online store.

It adds that Microsoft recently registered its own private company in the UK that is designed to spearhead its UK push.

Microsoft has yet to decide on the exact location of the store, but does expect to open its doors in March 2013.

Microsoft currently has 19 stores based in North America.
