USA: STALKER Clear Sky suffers delay

The North American release of GSC’s anticipated PC FPS prequel STAKLER: Clear Sky has been delayed for what is claimed to be ‘a few days’ following an error with the game’s CD keys.

Publisher Deep Silver confirmed to Shacknews that the initial batch of North American editions of the game failed to include a CD key – something that is needed to activate the game on a user’s PC.

Subsequently, the game has been temporarily recalled from retail. The publisher has also suggested that the error might also affect the arrival of the title on Valve’s digital distribution network Steam. No new release date has been confirmed, though the signs seem to be pointing to something around September 15th.

Fortunately, Deep Silver claims that the European release this Friday should not be affected.
