VIDEO: Satellite Reign releases

There’s no denying that this “gameplay visualisation” for Syndicate successor Satellite Reign looks very impressive.

Developer 5 Live Studios has released the footage in response to those who had asked to see some gameplay footage of the title before they pledge to its Kickstarter fund. But that’s not as easy as it sounds.

“We’ve had a quite a few requests to see gameplay footage, the dilemma for us being that it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation,” the studio explained. “To accurately portray the kind of immerse, simulated and emergent world we want to create, we need to actually create it for reals! And that’s what this Kickstarter campaign is for, to create the game.

“So with that in mind, while we prepare for our final week's onslaught of updates (no spoilers, we want them to be a surprise!), we thought you might like to see the extended cuts and a few unused gameplay shots we created for the initial pitch video and how we imagine the game will play and look. All of this was done in the engine we’re using for Satellite Reign, Unity.”

At the time of writing the Satellite Reign Kickstarter stands at £298,902 – still over £50,000 short of its goal and with just six days remaining.
