Warner publishing Lollipop Chainsaw

Lollipop Chainsaw will be published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment outside of Asian territories.

The game is the latest title from Grasshopper Manufacture, the Japanese studio led by quirky developer Goichi ‘Suda 51’ Suda. It was originally announced last month, and will be handled by Warner as part of a deal with Japanese firrm Kadokawa Games.

Lollipop Chainsaw puts players in the skimpy uniform of a chainsaw-wielding cheerleader who takes it upon herself to fight off a zombie outbreak. You know, the usual hard-hitting stuff we’ve come to expect from Suda 51.

It is currently in development for Xbox 360 and PS3 and will be released in 2012.

"Our exciting partnership with Kadokawa Games allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets," said Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

"Grasshopper Manufacture’s games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games."
