World of Tanks receives updated visuals, introduces Historical Battles

Wargaming has detailed the incoming Frontiers patch for World of Tanks, which brings a new Historical Battles mode and updated visuals.

The update arrives on April 17th for the Windows PC version of the game, and coincides with the release of World of Tanks 9.0.

The new historical battle mode has players engaging in lengendary” tank encounters from World War II, with historically accurate tanks designed for three separate campaigns.

The new release also brings HD remakes of the American M4 Sherman, Soviet T-54 and German Tiger I. Wargaming is planning a variety other HD remakes to arrive later this year as well.

The Xbox 360 version recently received a different update adding new crews and vehicles, but no word on if or when the Frontiers patch will make it onto the console edition.
