WoW players complete 16m quests a day

The whole industry knows that when it comes to MMOs that Activision Blizzard’s World of Warcraft is the one to rule them all – but some recently revealed stats about the title offer a true glimpse into its scale.

Kotaku reports that the game’s lead designer Jeffrey Kaplan stated at GDC that players of World of Warcraft are currently completing, on average, over 16m quests online every single day.

In addition, between July 2007 and March 2009 a total of 8,570,222,426 quests were played by players of the game across the world.

Kaplan added that the game now offers 7,650 separate quests in total when expansions The Burning Crusade and Lich King are included.
