Xbox Live points coming to local tills?

Gamers could soon be able to buy Xbox Live, PSN or Nintendo points from their local newsagents.

That’s if PaySafeCard gets its own way. The firm operates a service where customers can get code print-outs from tills, similar to how mobile top-ups work.

It already offers Facebook Credits, as well as points for GameForge and BigPoint’s browser games.

We do a lot of social games, but the next step for us is consoles,” said CEO Michael Mueller.

PaySafeCard is available in some 300,000 outlets across 27 countries. In the UK it can be found in 25,000 shops – mostly newsagents, local shops and petrol stations. However, the firm did not rule out appearing in games retailers in the future.

Our customers want to purchase this product closest to where they live. But we’d be happy to use game shops as a distribution outlet,” added Mueller.
