Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break pips Dirt Rally to UK No.1

The Xbox One version of Quantum Break was the best-selling game in the UK last week.

The story-driven action title just beat Codemasters’ Dirt Rally to the No.1 position.

Quantum Break is also available on PC, but this data only collects physical sales – the PC version was a digital-only release. The title will have sold more if digital data was included. This information may shortly be available following a partnership between GfK Entertainment (which supplies MCV’s physical charts) and SuperData (which supplies MCV’s digital charts).

Microsoft says Quantum Break is its best selling Microsoft Studios new IP. That’s not saying a great deal, but it does mean it is more popular than Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Ori and the Blind Forest and Project Spark.

Dirt Rally’s performance is pretty strong for a title that was first released on PC a year ago. The game sold best on PS4.

Another sim racing game, MXGP2, was the only other new entry in the carts at No.17.

It means Tom Clancy’s The Division’s extended stay at the top of the charts is over. The game tumbles to No.3.

Here is the UK Top Ten (courtesy of GfK Entertainment):

1. Quantum Break, Microsoft
2. Dirt Rally, Codemasters
3. Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft
4. FIFA 16, EA
5. Far Cry Primal, Ubisoft
6. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
7. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Activision
8. EA Sports UFC 2, EA
9. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, Ubisoft
10. Star Wars Battlefront, EA
