Ben Grant discusses the Battle of the Clans competition

GAME and Turtle Beach are running a tournament tomorrow to find the greatest Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops clans in Australia, with the grand prize being professional sponsorship.

The tournament is being held in Sydney, with the winners moving on to a grand final in September.

Ben Grant, marketing director for GAME Australia, told MCV: "Judging by the phenomenal response from the community, it was definitely the right decision for GAME and Turtle Beach to be at the forefront of competitive gaming in Australia, in order to help raise its profile."

"This ‘X-Factor’ style event not only raises the profile of competitive gaming, but also allows GAME and Turtle Beach to show its support to the Australian gaming community, and hopefully put the winning teams on the World stage."

"GAME TV will be recording the whole event, with weekly segments broadcasted to the Australian public through our own online GAME TV channel, plus through all GAME stores nationwide, and also through iiNet Freezone, which has 1.3 million subscribers."

The grand prize for the tournament will be travel expenses for the two winning teams for up to 10 competition, team uniforms, and each member of both teams will receive an XBox 360 with two controllers and a Turtle Beach headset.

Grant continues: "This is the first event of its kind in Australia, and we plan to do another one in the near future."
