Yet more studios fall under EA's cost-cutting measures, say reports

Black Box and Tiburon seeing staff cuts?

EA’s previously revealed cost-cutting measures continue to take effect, with Canadian studio Black Box and Florida-based team Tiburon apparently the latest to see job cuts.

According to Gamasutra‘s sources, ‘multiple’ staff members have been let go at Tiburon – the team behind the Madden and Tiger Woods series – while Kotaku is reporting the rumour that Black Box has seen cuts, although this is ‘part of the studio consolidation happening at EA Canada’.

EA announced back in December that it would be cutting ten per cent of its staff – around 1,000 people – and closing or consolidating nine studio and publishing locations. Just yesterday EA Mythic announced it too would see headcount reductions, primarily in QA.

The fate of EA’s UK and European teams, which includes Burnout creators Criterion, Swedish studio DICE and the recently-rebranded Bright Lights, is currently unclear.
