Championship Manager 2009 delayed

Eidos has delayed the newest addition to the Championship Manager franchise from its original April release date until some time after the end of the publisher’s financial year.

The game will now ship after June 30, allowing the company to polish the game. Eidos is confident that the delay will not impact Championship Manager 2009’s profitiablity.

Eidos has a total commitment to producing the highest quality games and we believe by moving the release date of Championship Manager, we will give the product the additional time needed to deliver a more polished and highly competitive game within the genre,” the publisher’s CEO Phil Rogers said in a statement.

We will not compromise on quality and we are confident that this decision is right for consumers and will benefit the continued popularity of this franchise.”

Eidos recently moved a step closer to completing its buy-out from Square Enix, which will see the Japanese company purchase the British publisher in early May.
