Dead Space 4? EA maintains faith in scary space IP

Dead Space 3 is unlikely to be the last game in the series, EA has suggested.

Lower than expected sales of February’s release Dead Space 3 led to claims in March that Dead Space 4 had been cancelled. These claims were not denied by EA directly although one media outlet claimed to have received a denial.

Then 48 hours later outspoken EA exec Peter Moore took to the internet to attack the report, although didn’t make any definitive statements about the situation surrounding the brand.

Now however, EA has reiterated its belief in the IP, although it seems like any new games in the series are still some way off.

"No it’s not out of rotation," EA Labels boss Frank Gibeau told CVG when asked about its development status. "I’m not announcing anything right now, but I will say we had a great trilogy of games and we still have faith in that franchise.

"The worst thing you can do as a company is try too many things at once.

"Dead Space is something that we’re very proud of. We are not making any public announcements on what we’re doing with the next Dead space, but we definitely have a great set of IPs to pull out of the vault."
