Open-world new Clancy brand will now be released in 2015

Delay confirmed for Tom Clancy’s The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Division has been pushed back to a 2015 release, Massive Entertainment has confirmed.

Delays to the new Tom Clancy shooter were first suspected when this month’s Watch Dogs, originally due to be a launch title for the new generation of consoles, was given six extra months of development time, which in turn delayed open world racer The Crew to this autumn.

The news comes just minutes after Ubisoft announced Far Cry 4 – which is being worked on by five studios – for November 21st. No doubt the publisher doesn’t want too many of its major releases to release so closely to each other.

The confirmation came from a post on The Division’s official site.

"Today we announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division will be available in 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC," the site reads.

"Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don’t want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it’s ready.

"We want to thank you again for the exceptional ongoing support. Community is at the heart of what we are doing and we’re very much designing the game with you in mind, so your involvement means a lot to us.

"The production is getting stronger every day and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to at this year’s E3."

Develop revealed that UK studio Ubisoft Reflections is co-developing The Division earlier this year. In April, Ubisoft announced Red Storm Entertainment – a studio first set up by Tom Clancy himself – has also been brought in to help with the game.
