Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition receives summer release date

Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition has been dated.

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition will be headed to PS4, Xbox One and PC this summer.

This version of the hack and slash classic comes with a slew of graphical and gameplay additions.

In addition to the two playable characters from the game’s original 2008 release – Nero and Dante – fans will be able to play as the series protagonist’s samurai sword-wielding twin brother Vergil. He was last playable – in this form at least – in the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening.

Devil May Cry 1’s Trish and Devil May Cry 3’s Lady are both also playable, bringing the playable character count up to five.

In addition to this, the Special Edition also comes with ‘Legendary Dark Knight Mode’, where players have to take on hugely increased waves of enemies. This was in the original PC release.

Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition was announced at the end of last year alongside the recently-released DMC: Definitive Edition.
