Lobby group looks to expand; eyes web designers, graphic designers, writers

Gamers’ Voice calls for volunteers

Consumer gaming lobby group Gamers Voice is looking to welcome new members to its core team as it sets out to expand and apply more pressure to the UK government in 2011.

Headed up by MP Tom Watson, Gamers Voice lobbies parliament to represent the interests of gamers and the industry that they support.

‘If you have ever wanted the chance to defend video games and the people who play them from uninformed bias and undeserved ridicule, then now is your chance,’ said a statement to the press from Gamers Voice.

Watson is keen for those with relevant understanding of the industry to offer a few hours of their time to assist the organisation, and is particularly keen on recruiting web designers, graphic designers and writers, suggesting a focus on the Gamers Voice website and other materials is underway.

Conceived to be a high profile advocate of the public’s interests, Gamers Voice pitches itself as a consumer parallel to both Tiga and UKIE.

Founded in 2009 on Facebook, Gamers Voice currently courts 16,000 members.
