Former SCEA exec leaves search giant just four month after joining company

Google games boss leaves job

Having only joined the firm in April, Google’s games boss Mark DeLoura has left the company.

“It was not the perfect fit for me,” DeLoura said on his blog, on which he gives no reason for his departure. “I’m looking forward to my next adventure.

“I want to apologise to those of you I haven’t kept in good touch with these past few months. A lot of people reached out to me during my time at Google, and I’ve been pretty lousy at replying back or staying in touch due to how busy I was. Sorry about that!

Whether the move will prove a significant blow to Google’s rumoured gaming aspirations remains to be seen.
