Murray Pannell joins restructured SCE UK

Sony has revealed a brand new management structure for its UK office, with former Ubisoft marketing boss Murray Pannell named as the new SCE UK marketing director.

Pannell – who left Ubisoft earlier this month – replaces Alan Duncan whose departure was revealed by MCV last week. Former employers throughout his 11 year long games career include EA and Microsoft.

Alex Coultate has been named as SCE UK commercial director for the UK and Ireland. He joins from Universal Pictures where he was head of sales. He had previously served as DVD and video buying manager for Asda.

Former senior commercial manager for mobile at Virgin Media Nick Dickinson assumes the newly created role of head of business development.

Current Sony faces Robin Phillips and David Considine become head of sales for the UK and Ireland respectively.

The rest of UK and Ireland MD Fergal Gara’s new team is comprised of UK marketing manager Mark Bowles, Irish marketing director Marea Gray, head of UK trade marketing Rose Buahin and PR boss David Wilson.

"I am delighted to welcome Alex, Murray and Nick to PlayStation,” Gara said of the news.

They bring a wealth of fresh experience to the SCE UK and Ireland team. Together with the existing team members, I am confident we now have the senior structure to take the business forward and deliver fantastic initiatives for our end consumers and our industry partners."

Murray Pannell added: I am delighted to be joining the Sony team. It is an exciting opportunity to work for such an established and respected brand as PlayStation, and I look forward to working with Fergal and the team to develop the UK and Ireland business to achieve even greater heights.”
