Off-screen play confirmed for Watch Dogs Wii U

Ubisoft has explained how Wii U owners will be able to use their GamePad when playing upcoming release Watch Dogs.

Specifically, off-TV play has been confirmed as well as an optional interactive map.

"Our focus was in re-creating the same experience as on the other platforms, while taking advantage of what the Wii U has to offer," Ubisoft Bucharest producer Florin Sanda told NintendoWorldReport.

Other options – such as hacking, presumably – were dismissed after some tinkering, with Sanda saying that "some of them just didn’t work".

Although rumours of its cancellation proved unfounded, the Wii U version of the game was held back when the game arrived on other platforms last May. It is currently scheduled for release on Wii U on November 21st.

Ubisoft has said that the game will be the last mature title it releases for Nintendo’s machine following the sales failure of Assassin’s Creed on the console.
