Raspberry Pi A+ brings improvements, lower price

A smaller, cheaper version of credit card-sized computer Raspberry Pi is now available for purchase, the hardware’s creators have announced.

The non-profit organization’s blog reveals Raspberry Pi model A+ is 21mm shorter in length than the B+ edition of the device.

It also consumes less power, carries better audio, and the GPIO (general-purpose input/output) header now boasts 40 pins. The model still utilizes the BCM2835 application processor and packs 256mb of RAM.

The Raspberry Pi model A+ is out now for just $20 – which is actually a $5 reduction in price from the previously released models.
