Resistance 2 arriving this autumn

The keen eyes over at UK consumer site Spong have

spotted

an almost missable sentence in a recent press release from celebrated developer Insomniac confirming the arrival of its FPS sequel later this year.

It reads: "Insomniac Games is currently developing Resistance 2, which will release this fall, exclusively for PS3."

The news follows yesterday’s developer video, which pegged July 8th as an important date for the title. Spong now speculates that the date might represent the planned release of a demo.

Resistance: Fall of Man was one of PS3’s most celebrated launch titles – though it was later embroiled in some Church-related controversy owing to its depiction of Manchester Cathedral.

Insomniac is also the studio behind much-loved PS3 hit Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction.
