Indie publisher hiring former PR and journalist as publishing director

Simon Byron joining Curve Digital

Curve Digital has announced that Simon Byron will join its ranks.

A familiar face in the UK games industry, Byron has been working in games since 1992, starting as a journalist and moving into PR. He will be leaving his current position at leading entertainment PR agency Premier.

He will take on the role of publishing director, drawing on his experience in launching and promoting prominent releases such as Candy Crush, Pokémon, Guitar Hero and the Batman: Arkham series.

"I’ve been very fortunate to have a career full of dream jobs – but joining Curve Digital at this pivotal moment in the company’s history is genuinely the dreamiest," said Byron. "I’m really excited about working with some of the biggest names in game development and bringing new titles to console audiences – I can’t wait to get stuck in."

Curve MD Jason Perkins added: "Simon’s appointment marks the start of the next phase for Curve Digital as we look to build upon our recent transition from development studio to multi-format games publisher. We’ve long admired Simon’s work and we’re absolutely thrilled he’ll be joining the team."

Curve Digital has ramped up its efforts in indie publisher over the past few years, helping to bring titles such as Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor and The Swapper onto platforms such as PC, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and 3DS.
