Competition closes next week, offers devs the chance to win mobile publishing contract

Spil Games’ $50,000 competition receives hundreds of entries

Spil Games’ Unsung Heroes contest, which sees studios competing to win a publishing contract worth $50,000 has received more than 200 entries – but there’s still time to apply.

The competition closes on Tuesday, June 23rd, and is built around raising discoverability for mobile games that have yet to see the success they deserve.

Spil Games claims that just by enterting, mobile devs will generate more exposure for their game. The firm has even set up a new Facebook page to show off the Unsung Heroes entries.

“It’s an unprecedented response,” said CEO Tung Nguyen-Khac. “We never expected to see so many entries. We’ve started to review the games and some of them are amazing.”

The judges from Spil Games will be using the public reactions on the Facebook page as part of their consideration when selecting the finalists next month.

The best game will be awarded the publishing contract, and marketing to more than 100m unique monthly users. The publisher will also assist with writing and optimising app store descriptions, improving monetisation and localising to reach a wider audience.
