Star Trek DAC detailed

Initial details have been revealed for Star Trek DAC, the video game due for release alongside the upcoming Star Trek movie.

Star Trek DAC will only be available as a downloadable title, according the film’s associate producer David Baronoff and Joshua Glazer, CTO of the game’s developer Naked Sky Entertainment, as reported by Joystiq.

The game is due to be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network around the movie’s launch on May 8th. Pricing has yet to be announced, but a free demo will also be made available on both platforms.

The initial details surrounding the game emerged from GDC 2009, currently being held in San Francisco. Star Trek DAC will be arcade-style top-down 3D space shooter, boasting online multiplayer. Players control the U.S.S. Enterprise from the film as well as other ships, and take part in battles between the Federation and the Romulans.
