Academic-focused event ProtoTeach to run alongside ProtoPlay

Students dictate thorny topics in new trade event

A new academia-focused industry event has based its subject matter on concerns heard from Britain’s game design academics.

Known as ProtoTeach, the event will look at divisive issues such as how academia and the industry should be working together, looks to advise students and universities on practical ways to make their courses more industry-facing.

A joint venture between Skillset and Abertay University, the event is being held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from August 13th to 14th, meaning it will run alongside the student deign showcase Dare ProtoPlay.

“Dare ProtoPlay is an international games development student talent showcase underpinned with significant industry buy in, providing the perfect backdrop for the ProtoTeach conference with the focus on excellence and industry relationships,” said Abertay business director Paul Durrant.
