Val Kilmer lends voice to Spider-Man game

Batman Forever star Val Kilmer will provide the voice of villain Walker Sloan in Spider-Man: Edge of Time.

It’s part of Activision’s plans to bolster its Spider-Man and X-Men Destiny multiformat games with Hollywood voice talent.

Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort will voice Mary Jane while Katee Sackhoff – who played Lieutenant Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica – will make her debut in the game as the Black Cat.

In X-Men Destiny, Heroes’ Milo Ventimiglia, Sucker Punch’s Jamie Chung and Friday Night Lights’ Scott Porter will voice three new mutant characters.

"These amazing casts of talented Hollywood actors help bring the rich storylines of Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny to life," said Vicharin Vadakan, director of marketing at Activision Publishing.

"Players will get to control the destiny of their own mutants or save Spider-Man and through this voice talent feel like they are part of the action."

The actors will promote Activision’s upcoming games at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con on July 23rd, where they will join legendary comic creator Stan Lee, Marvel writer Peter David and Beenox Studio head Dee Brown.

X-Men Destiny is due for release in the UK on September 30th, while Spider-Men: Edge of Time will arrive on October 28th. Both games will hit Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS. The latter will also be released on 3DS.
