CAMBRIDGE, UK – Wednesday 12 th December 2012: Jagex, Europe’s largest independent games studio, today announced that more than 500,000 users have pre-registered on www.aceofspades.com in the 4 weeks leading up to tomorrow’s release.

Following a host of favourable previews and community excitement, the Ace of Spades website has been inundated with players looking to be the first to play the unique shooter.

With just 24 hours to wait until launch, Jagex unveiled the final class video to whet your appetite. The Marksman is the final class to be revealed, joining the Commando, Miner and Rocketeer who have been announced over the last seven days.

An expert in covert operations, once the Marksman gets you in his sights you better hope he doesn’t pull that trigger, he has razor sharp accuracy and distance is no object!  The video, along with all the class videos, is available to download from here:   https://jagex.box.com/s/a9irgkowgo9t7n8v3ds6.

“Reaching half a million registrations in such a short period of time is incredible and a real testament to both the quality of the game we have produced and the commitment and loyalty of the Ace of Spades community,” commented Arash Amini, Producer of Ace of Spades. “The game has achieved unprecedented levels of popularity and it is great to see so many players pre-register so quickly. We are all go for tomorrow and are confident that the game will be a massive hit this Christmas.”

Ace of Spades is an innovative, intelligent creative shooter that gives players complete strategic freedom over a battlefield they can evolve and build on throughout a game session.  Featuring up to 32 players, Ace of Spades destructible environments are only limited by the imagination of the players creating them. The game provides players with all the ‘world-building’ freedom of a voxel-based sandbox, but with the addition of competitive, team-based multiplayer FPS gunplay.

The game provides a rich and compelling experience to fans of first-person shooters looking for a game which will allow them to express their creativity while satisfying their thirst for fast-paced gameplay. Creativity is key to succeeding in Ace of Spades as the game gives players the freedom to construct anything from simple bunkers to elaborate fortresses and tunnel networks. This adds a new and innovative component to the game giving players unrestricted freedom to plan their own battles, construct purpose-built defences, and adapt the environment in real-time, changing the course of the battle.

Ace of Spades is the latest title from the multi-awarding UK studio behind the leading free-to-play browser MMO RuneScape.com, the recently announced Facebook racer Carnage Racing, and the eagerly anticipated Transformers Universe.

The game will be available to download tomorrow and will cost just $9.99/£6.99/€7.99.
