Alien Breed™ 2: Assault descends onto XBLA and Steam today

London, UK- September 22nd, 2010 Alien Breed 2: Assault , Team 17’s latest killer title has been hotly anticipated since its predecessors, Alien Breed™: Evolution and Alien Breed™: Impact, were launched across Xbox™ LIVE Arcade, PlayStation®Network for PlayStation®3, and for PC via Steam. Thankfully, the wait is now over; gamers across the world will now have a chance to play the next chapter in this high-budget, high-quality series when Alien Breed 2: Assault becomes available for purchase today on Xbox™ LIVE Arcade and PC via Steam.

Alien Breed 2: Assault expands on the territory covered by Impact/Evolution and adds several new elements to the mix. With a brand new“Survivor” mode for one or two players, new weapons, a currency-based weapons and items upgrade system, choreographed set pieces and heart-stopping boss battles, this game is highly entertaining; a more expansive and exploration based addition to the series. The haunting and atmospheric soundtrack, combined with stunning visuals (using Unreal® Engine 3) round off a must-have title for shooter fans.

A demo is to be available on both platforms from launch; a purpose-designed, action-packed free trial called“The Prologue”, which also features a time-limited“Survivor” mode map.

A sequel was released in 1993 (Alien Breed 2) and a 3D edition, both of which won numerous awards. The well-loved series had lain dormant for 14 years, until December 2009, when it arrived in stunning fashion with the production-heavy 'Alien Breed Evolution' on Xbox 360 LIVE Arcade achieving Christmas No. 2 sales position on Xbox 360 LIVE Arcade.
