Ascaron Entertainment, one of the UK’s leading independent games distributors, has signed a new agreement with Advantage Distribution. The deal will see Advantage Distribution taking over from Pinnacle to handle sales of the 2009 game portfolio to selected retail partners. Among the first titles under the new agreement is the critically acclaimed King’s Bounty: The Legend, a fantasy RPG receiving excellent press reviews across the board, to be released for PC this month.
Moto Racer DS, the new handheld version of the established and ever-popular motorbike racing series, is also included in the line up. Releasing on 3rd April, the DS racer is being heavily supported with an integrated campaign that includes TV advertising and PR to capitalise on existing brand loyalty and reach the NDS family audience.
Further titles in Ascaron’s 2009 release schedule are Hearts of Iron 3, the latest in the celebrated strategy series, and Majesty 2, the highly anticipated sequel of the hugely successful original.
“We are delighted to be working with Ascaron Entertainment as the company’s range of titles for 2009 will appeal to a wide audience from hardcore to casual gamers. This range not only complements our own credentials and experience in gaming distribution, but also presents some new and exciting opportunities for vendors all over the UK,” states Max Butler, General Manager of Advantage Distribution.
Roger Swindells, Managing Director of Ascaron Entertainment said,“Advantage Distribution has demonstrated the necessary expertise to handle our wide portfolio of multi format titles, making them an excellent partner of choice. The gaming market has undoubtedly changed in recent years, becoming more diverse and at times more complex, and we have selected a partner that is able to adapt willingly and competitively. We look forward to a successful partnership over the coming months.”
Ascaron Entertainment’s recent releases include the critically acclaimed TrackMania DS, from the world famous racing series, and A Vampyre Story, a beautiful point and click adventure from ex-Lucas Arts man Bill Tiller and Autumn Moon Entertainment.
