BenQ enters a co-operation with the global league of the video game champions

Cologne, September 23, 2011 – Electronic Sports League (ESL), the largest eSports league in Europe, announces a co-operation with BenQ, a leading provider of networked digital lifestyle services. The new partner is the global supplier of the Intel Extreme Masters season 2011/12, the global league of the video game champions. All the Global Challenges, live events of the league taking place in countries around the world, will feature matches in Counter-Strike 1.6, StarCraft 2 and League of Legends played on BenQ’s XL2410T and RL2240H monitors, specially designed for the first-person shooter and strategy games, respectively.

"A competition like the Intel Extreme Masters requires the most advanced hardware in order to ensure that the world’s best gamers are able to perform at their absolute best,” says Michal Blicharz, Director of Pro Gaming at Turtle Entertainment. “Our events get world class PC processors from Intel and now BenQ is delivering world class monitors.”

The sponsorship deal was formed as the result of BenQ’s commitment developing cutting-edge professional gaming monitors. While holding a strong belief that gaming is in the details, BenQ strives to push its R&D efforts beyond limits to deliver an unprecedented level of control, accuracy and enjoyment to all professional gamers and gaming enthusiasts. The collaboration with top-tier professional gamers from STARTALE and Counter-Strike legends, Emil “HeatoN” Christensen and Abdisamad “SpawN” Mohamed from ZOWIE GEAR, certainly made magic happen with the creation of the most empowering features that signature the XL and RL Series, including the Black eQualizer, S Switch, Display Mode and Smart Scaling.

“We are truly proud to be a part of this spectacular event, standing by prominent players from all over the world and rooting for them. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show our support for the gaming community and to contribute to the game with our professional gaming monitors,” Peter Chen, EVP and General Manager of BenQ Technology Product Center. “The XL and RL Series are both built exclusively with the latest display technologies to meet the demands of eSports tournaments as well as participating athletes. And, we simply can’t wait to see them in live action as the gamers put them to the ultimate test in this world-class tournament.”
