Bill “The Game Doctor” Kunkel Goes to Heaven

September 5, 2011

New York, NY: Bill “The Game Doctor” Kunkel was the ultimate gamer and video game fan. Bill also just happened to be the co-founder of the first video game magazine “Electronic Games”, a game designer, a musician, an author, an artist, a satirist, an expert witness, a teacher, a pro wrestling announcer, a Mob aficionado, an animal lover, a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, a partner at J2Games, a founding member and Editor In Chief of Running With Scissors.

If you’ve ever played a video game, read about a video game or took for granted your freedom to do so then please look up and introduce yourself to Bill and give him a nod. Bill was a low key guy who always remembered his friends and considered himself a gamer and fan above all else.

Most of all Bill was a great husband, brother, advisor and old friend and passionate lover of life.

Bill is survived by his wife, Laurie and their three cats; sisters, Stephanie Giglio, and Karen and Joellen "Cookie" Kunkel; brothers, Ken and Stuart Kunkel; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Please send all tributes and condolences to his wife Laurie at
