21 st February 2013: The UK’s leading digital social world for kids, BinWeevils.com has teamed up with one of the world’s biggest and most exciting music labels, Sony Music.
The partnership will see the release of ‘Bin Tunes’ on 1 st April 2013, a debut music album featuring popular characters from the BAFTA award-winning platform. It will be available to pre-order from Amazon (click HERE ) and other retailers.
BinWeevils.com is the newest addition to Sony Music’s roster of globally acclaimed superstars. The signing reflects Bin Weevils’ phenomenal success with kids 6 to 12 – the digital social world now receives over two million unique visitors every month, equating to 50% of all children in the UK. BinWeevils.com recently announced that 20 million kids have registered on the platform since launch.
‘Bin Tunes’ features tracks including ‘The Great Bin Weevils’, ‘So Much Better with Two’ and ‘Splosh the Dosh’, bringing popular characters like Tink, Clott and Posh to life like never before.
BinWeevils.com has offered its fanbase of 20 million registered users the unique opportunity to pen the lyrics of four tracks on the album. As well as earning a coveted song-writing credit, four lucky winners get to spend a day at a London studio with a top music producer. Over 35,000 lyrics were submitted, generating anticipation and excitement about the album release.
‘Bin Tunes’ celebrates the ethos of the digital social platform, where much of the creativity is driven by kids themselves. It includes tracks written by kids, sung by kids and has an album cover voted for by kids, giving them ownership of an album they have helped create. Eight kids have been chosen to sing on the album, from the many who auditioned.
