Approximately 150 companies participated in the Event, which ensured new and diverse attractions to the public, including the unedited presentation of Nintendo's Wii U in the country, a Press Conference held by Sony with the presence of journalists from all over Latin America, at which the company revealed its plans for the region, and the presence of Microsoft with the XBOX Line, in a more than 500 m2 booth.

Major producers were present for the first time in the country, such as Katsuhiro Harada, producer of the Tekken series, Philippe Ducharme, one of the producers of Assassin's Creed 3, and Kiki Wolfkill, executive producer of Halo 4. In addition, 10 Competitions were held, with emphasis on the Brazilian League of Legends Championship, the Tournament commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Street Fighter series, and AMD Brasil Game Jam.

BGS 2012 had a turnover of approximately R$50 million in business and promoted over a thousand business meetings through its Matchmaking System. This was one of the main innovations of the 2012 edition, which will be maintained next year.

Over its four days, BGS collected more than 40 tonnes of non-perishable food, which were donated to Casa Hope, an institution that assists in care for children and adolescents with cancer. The Event's organizers appreciate the collaboration of all visitors, which was critical to the success of this initiative.
