BUNDANG, South Korea - September 30, 2011
Sollmo, the game development group of app and game publisher Company100, Inc., announced that its free-to-play RPG Buddy Rush has won top honors at the Unity Awards 2011 in the Cross-Platform category, taking place during the fifth annual Unite conference. The title received recognition for its accomplishments in creating a true cross-platform role-playing game, with a centralized account of characters, friends, statistics and items across the Facebook, iOS and Android platforms and featuring beautiful 3D-rendered graphics developed on the Unity 3 engine.
Unity Technologies began the annual Unity Awards to honor the developers creating the best video games and interactive 3D applications using the Unity development platform. The Unity Awards features a carefully selected group of the best and brightest professional and amateur talent within the video game industry, covering games developed across multiple platforms ranging from iOS and Facebook to the PlayStation3 and PC.
“We dreamed of achieving success by winning the hearts and minds of gamers while we were developing Buddy Rush, and never would have thought that we’d be one day competing among the industry’s elite in game development and design,” said Jin Cheon Kim, President of Company100. “The Unity development platform is really what enabled us to create such a fun and unique experience across multiple platforms, and we’re truly honored to have gained recognition for Buddy Rush from the technology enablers themselves. We look forward to continuing our efforts behind Buddy Rush as we bring more features and content to fans worldwide, as well as new and exciting projects in the pipeline that will raise the bar even higher for what a game can do across the PC and mobile platforms!”
Buddy Rush is a single-player, free-to-play RPG featuring social elements which allow players to take their Facebook Friends’ characters adventuring along with their own custom character as computer-controlled allies. Players and their party of friends will go adventuring on Missions, battling cute Oblins and other monsters, gathering loot, gaining experience points and leveling up while progressing through the game’s chapters.
