CALLING ALL GAME DEVELOPERS

Tandem Events announced today that the call for Speaker Submissions is now open for the Develop in Brighton Conference which will take place from 10 – 12 July 2012.

Now in its seventh year, the Develop in Brighton Conference has established itself as Europe’s leading event for the game development community – with more than 100 quality sessions given by international development experts and around 1500 developers getting together to improve their skills, learn from each other and network.

The conference will open again with the forward thinking Evolve on Tuesday 10 July, which focuses on innovation in game development - new platforms, new business models, new technologies and new markets.

The learning will continue on the Wednesday and Thursday with the Develop Conference, which this year boasts a new Education track aimed at anyone involved in games education and shaping tomorrow’s developers.

Plus, following its hugely successful debut, the Indie Dev Day will run again on the Thursday with a conference programme tackling issues relevant to independent developers, a networking lunch and the Indie Showcase where selected yet-to-be published games will be on display.

“The Develop Conference is all about real developers tackling the issues, tools, tricks and techniques of game development, so we really want to offer developers a chance to come and talk about what’s important to them today. Each year we receive more and more submissions for talks and we’re expecting a good response again this year as there’s lots of hot topics for 2012 like game bundling; IPTV; iPad and Android game dev; funding models and winning over VCs and of course next gen consoles.” commented Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events.

Delegates can submit their proposals for conference sessions via the online form at: www.developconference.com. The submissions deadline is 30 March 2012. Speakers at the 2011 conference included the Media Molecule directors Alex Evans, Kareem Ettouney and Mark Healey interviewed by Phil Harrison; Michael Acton Smith, Mind Candy; David Braben, Frontier Developments; Laura Fryer, WB Games Seattle; Iain Livingstone, Eidos Life President and Andrew Wilson, EA Sports.
