Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Re-Launched on Android as Freemium

Kiev, Ukraine – February, 21, 2013 – Tatem Games has released a major update to Android version of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, a widely popular hunting simulation game. The new version features a brand new free area to hunt, at the moment exclusive to Android. Besides, the economics of the game has been completely changed so that all the content is either available for free for skillful gamers, or can be purchased by anyone impatient.

The new map is called Nibelungen Paradise and has all classical map features of Carnivores series: huge, 2x2 km 3D area with mountains, valleys, lakes and forests for endless combinations of hiding, stalking and attacking the prey. Screenshots of the new area are attached below.

The move to freemium has been made in response to requests from the audience and market. Carnivores is insanely popular in developing countries with limited payment options as well as among young people who don’t possess credit cards. Now all content is available for in-game points, which are earned from successful hunts on easier maps and less scary animals. Alternatively, if players want to chase after T-Rex from start, they can make a respective purchase (two available: $0.99 and $1.99) or watch sponsor ads.

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter has been downloaded for 3 million times on Android only since launch in September. Combined figures for iOS and Android for Carnivores series reach 14 million. The games are sold for $2.99 on Apple AppStore. Tatem Games says they will see how the model works and then decide if it should be applied to Carnivores: Ice Age and games on other platforms as well.

Google Play updated game is available immediately. Amazon App Store release is planned for next week.
