CeBIT 2012: TwitchTV partners with the Intel Extreme Masters league

Cologne, February 29, 2012 – On March 6 – 10, CeBIT trade fair (Hanover, Germany) will once again host the final event of one of the most prominent eSports leagues in the world – the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship. It will also be a starting point of the co-operation between the league and the world’s largest video game broadcasting platform, TwitchTV, which from that day will play the role of the official Intel Extreme Masters’ partner. The event at CeBIT will feature around 144 world’s best players competing for the title of the world champion and a share of 283,000 US Dollar. TwitchTV will offer these modern gladiators a serene place to rest and gather their strength in between the matches.

The TwitchTV Champions Lounge will be a great relaxing area for the players participating in the tournament as well as the online press representatives covering the event. Apart from the comfortable seating the lounge will also offer PCs and TV screens with the live ESL TV streams of the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship competition. Complimentary refreshments and snacks will also be provided.

The Intel Extreme Masters World Championship will be the grand finale of the 2011/12 season of the league. After Global Challenges in Cologne (Germany), Guangzhou (China), New York (US), Kiev (Ukraine) and Sao Paulo (Brazil), the new eSports Champions of the World will be determined at CeBIT 2012. Throughout the entire season the best pro-gamers from Europe, Asia, Australia and both Americas were fighting for their share of the 643,000 US Dollars - world's highest prize money for an international league for computer games. The disciplines of the competition are Counter-Strike 1.6, StarCraft II and League of Legends.
