Disney, Jagex, BBC&Sulake Join Speaker Line-Up for Kids in Games&Virtual Worlds Event

18 June, 2009

London, UK ............... Marc Goodchild, BBC; Pierre Dadd, Disney; Henrique Olifiers, Jagex and Oisin Lunny of Sulake (publishers of Habbo) have joined the speaker line-up for the inaugural Kids in Games&Virtual Social Spaces Forum in London on 17 July. They will share their understanding of how to realise the need to both protect and engage kids in online games and virtual worlds.

The importance of protecting kids in games - online and through traditional retail - is borne out by the latest government announcements about PEGI taking over the industry's ratings. However, the latest announcements mask the detail of areas of responsibility now and future jursidiction of online games, those with online connectivity or pack extensions and virtual worlds.

With more games developers and publishers looking to the online model and especially the teens and tweens games and virtual worlds space (as they are some of the most lucrative areas), the debate over best practice starts now, with the gathering of heavy-weight industry players on 17 July.
