Epic Games Announces Plans for Game Developers Conference 2013

CARY, N.C. (February 28, 2013) – Epic Games, Inc. announces its participation in the Game Developers Conference (GDC) to be held March 25-29, 2013 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Epic will meet with developers and partners of its award-winning Unreal Engine technology and host media briefings in its expo suite, North Hall Business Suite 322, as well as present material as part of the official conference program throughout the course of the week.

Bringing Next-Gen Tools to Developers Now

Epic will host business and technical meetings in North #BS322 for those interested in Unreal Engine technology for shipping triple-A games for PC, console and mobile platforms.

Those wishing to meet with Epic should email licensing@epicgames.com and specify three possible meeting times, the number of people planning to attend and whether those individuals would like to see a technology demonstration, speak with Epic business representatives, talk with Epic technical representatives or discuss other matters. Appointments are not required but priority will be given to those with confirmed arrangements.

In addition, Epic will provide free advanced training sessions for Unreal Engine licensees. A schedule soon will be posted to the newly revamped Unreal Developer Network (UDN), http://udn.unrealengine.com.

Representatives from Epic Games headquarters, Epic Games Europe, Epic Games Korea, Epic Games Japan and Yingpei Games (formerly Epic Games China) will be on hand to speak with licensees and prospective customers from all regions.

Hours for Epic’s expo suite are as the same as GDC business center hours: Wednesday, March 27, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Friday, March 29, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Presenting New Indie Drop-in Hours

While teams of any size may arrange a licensing meeting, Epic will also host GDC drop-in hours devoted to independent game developers, with no advance appointment needed. These meetings are first come first serve at Epic’s suite, North #BS322, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the expo. Developers may check in at the front desk at the beginning of each day to secure time with one of Epic’s dedicated territory managers.

Continuing with tradition, Epic will support GDC with lecturers, panelists, bootcamp hosts and more. Confirmed speakers include the following members of Epic’s team.

Announcing the Latest News

Epic will host media briefings covering new Unreal Engine technology developments on Wednesday, March 27, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m., and on Thursday, March 28, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. in its private expo suite. Media wishing to attend either event should RSVP to pr@epicgames.com with outlet name, number of attendees and day preference. Space is limited, and RSVPs must be confirmed to guarantee entry.

In addition, Epic is pleased to showcase high-end HP Z Workstations featuring optimal configurations for developing state-of-the-art Unreal Engine games during its technical demonstrations.
