FIFA’s Ex-Development Director Appointed Splash Damage’s Director of Production

London, England – January 2012

Leading independent UK developer Splash Damage today announced that Griff Jenkins, Senior Development Director of multiple FIFA® successes during his seven years at EA, is appointed Director of Production.  Griff reports directly to CEO Paul Wedgwood, and joins the studio’s Board of Directors.

During his six years at EA, Griff led several extremely popular franchises including Need for Speed™ and FIFA. He simultaneously managed multiple development teams, created genre-defining gameplay experiences, and shipped AAA games on every major platform. Furthermore, Griff was key in establishing FIFA’s critical acclaim and sales dominance, personally creating and directing the centralised gameplay team that achieved Metacritic success.

“Following FIFA’s incredible success, Griff’s new role at Splash Damage will be to improve our games by improving the way we make them,” said Paul Wedgwood, CEO of Splash Damage.  “Under Griff’s leadership we’ll elevate production to a discipline on par with art, design, and programming.  These are areas that we’ve always constantly strived to improve, and production should be no different.”

Griff added “I’m really excited to become Director of Production at Splash Damage, particularly because of its incredible vision for multiplayer gaming.  I’m delighted to become an integral part of that future, and can’t wait to announce our plans.”

Griff brings 17 years of professional game development experience to Splash Damage, having developed numerous high profile titles. After studying Physics at London’s Imperial College, Griff worked at Eidos, Criterion, Kuju, and EA, with integral roles on the FIFA, Need for Speed, and original Championship Manager™ franchises.
