Melbourne – 24th Sep, 2013 - Firelight Technologies announced today that it has released FMOD Studio 1.2. This latest release features an SDK for third party DSP technologies and comes bundled with plug-ins from partners AudioGaming and McDSP. AudioWeather from AudioGaming ( www.audiogaming.com) makes the creation of immersive outdoor sound environments a breeze. The plug-in sound module is full-featured and free to try with FMOD Studio 1.2.
AudioWeather includes many preset effects ranging from howling mountain-top winds to the gentle sound of raindrops on a lake. These rich outdoor textures are generated in full surround and can dynamically respond to the game with intuitive Wind and Rain parameter automation. Also included with the latest release of FMOD Studio, is McDSP's ( www.mcdsp.com) renowned precision mastering limiter, the ML1.
Featuring a flexible brick wall look-ahead design, multiple stages of limiting and unique Knee and Mode controls, the ML1 can handle any kind of material with a variety of responses, ranging from transparent to aggressive. This trusted McDSP limiter provides the polish while maintaining the punch on stereo and surround mixes. “We've completely opened up our audio framework so people can create and use plug-ins in their games.” said Gino Bollaert, DSP engineer for FMOD Studio. “I’m really excited to see what game studios will be able to do with our SDK.” To download a fully featured version of FMOD Studio, please visit the FMOD website ( www.fmod.com).
