Garfield’s Facebook Fans Say 'Deal Me In' to New Trading Card App by DeckDAQ

With more than 5 million fans on Facebook, Garfield is ready to up the ante by introducing a new game — Garfield Collections. The virtual card collecting and trading game is a collaboration among Garfield’s licensing company, Paws, Inc., DeckDAQ, creator of the game’s HTML5 platform and Universal Uclick, syndicator of the Garfield comic strip.

The game, which is built around the experience of “collecting” and “trading” branded virtual cards featuring Garfield’s imagery, encourages fans to complete all 48 cards in Garfield's "Rules for Life" collection. Additional themed collections will be released as fans progress in the game. The cooperative game play element, connecting the more than 5 million Garfield Facebook fans to trade, swap and buy the virtual cards to complete their collections, will remind fans why they love the fat cat: for his dread of Mondays, disdain for dogs, craving for coffee and love of lasagna.
