SAN JOSE, Calif., (Sept. 11, 2012) – NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. is excited to announce that TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT™ 2 is now available for purchase in retail stores across North America for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The original tag team fighter is back with innovative new features, the largest roster of fighters in TEKKEN® history, a completely re-engineered online system, and of course special guest Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. Snoop Lion).
To date the TEKKEN series has sold more than 40 million units, making it the most successful and popular fighting game franchise in the world. The development team is continually seeking ways to improve the series and is introducing several ground-breaking new features in TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2. One of these features is Fight Lab, which allows new and experienced players to learn basic and advanced TEKKEN mechanics through a series of stages while being able to customize their own Combot character by purchasing moves from other characters to mix and match into a deadly combat machine. TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 also introduces Pair Play, which gives players the ability to play four-player TEKKEN matches with each player controlling a tag combatant. TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 also gives players the option of fighting in one-on-one matches and solo fighter vs. a tag-team battle. These new modes provide additional gameplay options for seasoned TEKKEN fans while providing an easier point of access to new players.

In another first for the TEKKEN series, TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 will also feature an original song by celebrated hip-hop star Snoop Dogg. With his new song KNOCC ‘EM DOWN, Snoop Dogg prepares players for the next battle in TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2’s legendary King of Iron Fist tournament. Featured in the game and on the original soundtrack, KNOCC ‘EM DOWN blends Snoop’s smooth style with the lethal power of TEKKEN.
Now available in stores across North America, TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 is rated “T” for teen by the ESRB and carries a MSRP of $59.99 for PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360.
