Get-Well Gamers Reels in $9K from Bass Pro Shops®

Huntington Beach, CA, August 4, 2008—The Get-Well Gamers Foundation, a California-based public charity dedicated to bringing electronic entertainment to children in healthcare facilities, today announced that it had received a product donation of over $9,000 from Bass Pro Shops.

The product was raised as the result of a national video games trade-in, which took place from May 21-26 as part of“Go Outdoors,” a series of national events by Bass Pro Shops to kick off the summer season with a message of giving and the health benefits of the sporting lifestyle.

For their generosity, socially conscious gamers who donated their used games received a 15 percent discount off Bass Pro Shops branded merchandise in the fishing, water sports, tents, sleeping bags, and footwear categories.

"The hospital is not a fun place to spend your summer, and Bass Pro Shops hopes the donation from our Go Outdoors event will help make it easier for kids across the country,” said Larry Whiteley, Bass Pro Shops.“Teaming up with Get Well Gamers was a great opportunity to let those that can enjoy the outdoors help those who are unable."
