Hamburg, September 24, 2013. The release of Empire: Four Kingdoms earlier this year saw Goodgame Studios bring a version of its successful online game Goodgame Empire to iOS and Android. Though accompanied by little fanfare at the time, the first app from the Hamburg developer can now be regularly found among the top ten highest grossing games in both the iTunes and Google Play Stores.
‘”We’re extremely proud of the development of Empire: Four Kingdoms,” revealed Dr. Christian Wawrzinek, co-founder and COO of Goodgame Studios. ”It’s our first title for mobile platforms, and in addition it’s a very complex game with a wide range of functions that we’ve brought to smartphones and tablets at the first attempt. The game is featuring more and more regularly in the top places in Germany as well as in international charts, which shows that we are on the right path.”
Indeed, Empire: Four Kingdoms has regularly featured in the top 20 highest grossing games for the iPad and iPhone in Germany for more than two months. On Android meanwhile, the title has even been in the top ten since the start of August. These positions put Goodgame Studios in the company of international industry heavyweights such as Electronic Arts, Supercell and King. Top 15 places have also been achieved in other significant markets such as France, Poland and the United Kingdom.
For the coming weeks Goodgame Studios is planning several large updates to the app, which will further increase the breadth of the game and its enjoyment. As a result, Empire: Four Kingdoms is all set to maintain its forward momentum.
